If your profile is too long, too drawn out, too obtuse, you’ll lose your reader. Yes, you need to say more than just a few things about yourself, but no one is going to read a really long profile unless its engaging like a novel.
And frankly, that’s not what single sites are set up to do.
I recommend you keep your profile under 500 words (300 words is ideal). If the site allows it, make sure to use bold, italics, bullet points, and lists too. Breaking up the text like this will make it easier to scan (which is most likely what the other person is doing.)
Having been in a few long-distance relationships myself I can relate to the fun of it and the struggles of it. It can be painful. It’s lonely. But how great it is to see your honey come walking away from baggage claim and into your arms?
If it’s love or if you think it might be love, then long-distance relationships can be done. It must be done!
Here’s how:
1. Don’t hang up the phone in anger. This will get you no where.
2. Don’t call drunk – just don’t.
3. Send cards, gifts and other surprises in the mail periodically.
4. Don’t expect gifts or surprises from your partner. Not everyone is good at the old fashioned mail thing.
5. Surprise visits are good, but should be done only now and again. The other person has a life, a routine, and they need to keep their independence too.
6. Make phone dates once a week. On your phone date spend an hour or two talking about your relationship or other important issues besides just the usual “so how was your day?”

There are several patents for cotton candy, but the first came in 1899. Cotton candy is popular at circuses because it was first introduced there. Although the process is a little complicated, its ingredients aren’t. It is made with mostly butter and sugar.
Those founders deserve a compliment. Thanks for all these years of yummy treats.

You’ve probably seen him on Ellen or heard his tunes on Gray’s Anatomy, but I just gotta say it: I love this guy. I compliment Joshua Radin not just because he’s cute and has nice hair, but because he sings a great love song.
