This photo featured on UK’s Guardian is one of those things that just makes me feel good.  The little guy is a Madagascar lemur living in a French zoo. Bonjour!

His name is Tahina and he is only one month old (maybe less in this photo). According the article, Tahina is one of only 17 Madagascar lemurs held in captivity throughout the world.

Today marks the day that my Compliment Challenge must come to end.

In a way I’m happy because I can devote more time to the topic I’m most fascinated with: dating. But it’s also a little sad because in the process of all this complimenting I’ve met a lot of other bloggers and interesting people doing great things that are just downright compliment worthy.

So in a struggle to find something for my final compliment of the challenge I looked around, re-read some things, Stumbled, Tweeted, and then finally found what I thought deserved the most attention.

Chocolate eclairs.

My New Year’s Resolution is to eat more of these. No, not because chocolate eclairs are low in fat and have few calories. Not because you have to step inside of great places like Dunkin’ Donuts and other such bakeries, but because I like them and they make me happy.

This year, unlike all the other years, let’s just be honest about our resolutions. You can count calories, but give yourself one thing you love.

I love chocolate eclairs and the French man or woman that invented it gets a huge compliment from me.

1. He makes tattoos look sexy.

2. Benny and Joon.

3. He’s great at accents. See Pirates of the Caribbean if you don’t believe me.

4. Johnny fell in love with Winona Ryder.

5. He plays the guitar.

6. Edward Scissorhands.

7. Nicholas Cage was the one that got him started in the biz.

8. His skin tans nicely.

9. He owns his own island.

10. He’s received more than a dozen awards for all his great work.

A great way to compliment a friend is with a thoughtful or comical gift on Valentine’s Day. There’s no reason a Valentine has to be shared between those in love. Spread the goodness among friends and family too, that’s what I say. Here are a few good ideas for you.

Spa Day
Research spas in your area and get your friend a gift certificate for any spa treatment he or she might desire. Visit our friends over at Skin Fitness Facts to purchase.

Make a craft
It’s cheap and it will either be worn or published on your friend’s refrigerator for weeks to come. Try knitting, making a card, or writing a poem. Everyone likes a little cheese. For more great craft ideas visit Stitching the Night Away, a great crafts blog.

Always winners.

Grow a Boyfriend
If, and only if your friend can take it. I’ve probably received three or four of these things in my time. A couple of times it was funny, but once–oh man, it wasn’t that funny. Know your audience.

Bringin’ it back to middle school. Who wouldn’t be honored?

I’m about finished with the book Eat, Pray, Love and am so in love with this book that I have to share. I know most of you have probably read it too considering it is a best seller and all. If you haven’t read it, then I highly recommend it.

It’s an excellent book about letting go of love and finding love. In particular, finding love for yourself. Even if you aren’t a yogi or a romantic, I think you’ll find value in what the author, Elizabeth Gilbert, has to say.

Since college my friends have oft teased me for my music choices. I like a lot of different types of music but I have always had a soft spot for Usher, which, according to my friends, is very funny.

I don’t know why I love Usher so much. I recognize that I am not his target demographic, but I can’t get enough of him. Maybe it’s the way he whispers into my ears from my iPod, the way he dances on my TV screen, or all that talk about being “caught up” or his boo.”

Whatever it is, I don’t care. All of us deserve to be fans of someone that makes us feel sexy. I can’t dance or sing like that, but Usher makes me want to.

And lucky for me now I get to smell him now too. Like most celebrities he has his own fragrance, but this might be the one that I actually break down and buy.
