In a way I’m happy because I can devote more time to the topic I’m most fascinated with: dating. But it’s also a little sad because in the process of all this complimenting I’ve met a lot of other bloggers and interesting people doing great things that are just downright compliment worthy.

So in a struggle to find something for my final compliment of the challenge I looked around, re-read some things, Stumbled, Tweeted, and then finally found what I thought deserved the most attention.

Chocolate eclairs.

My New Year’s Resolution is to eat more of these. No, not because chocolate eclairs are low in fat and have few calories. Not because you have to step inside of great places like Dunkin’ Donuts and other such bakeries, but because I like them and they make me happy.

This year, unlike all the other years, let’s just be honest about our resolutions. You can count calories, but give yourself one thing you love.

I love chocolate eclairs and the French man or woman that invented it gets a huge compliment from me.

I recently picked up a copy of John Truby’s The Anatomy of a Story and I’m already a huge fan of the guy. I like Mr. Truby and the book that details storytelling techniques so much that I even made a Squidoo lens about.

If you are a writer like me, or if you just enjoy a good story, then I highly recommend the book.

The Anatomy of Story gets a compliment for being able to condense such a huge topic into something I understand. I like the way he writes.

I’m self employed now, but the days of working with assholes is strong in my memory. His book, The No Asshole Rule: Building a Civilized Workplace and Surviving One That Isn’t, is one worth reading and certainly one worth sharing with your co-workers.

Mr. Sutton deserves a huge compliment for speaking for all of us “nice people” and I think that’s admirable. Read his blog and the story about how a police officer enforced the no asshole rule.

Although he doesn’t delve much into dating relationships I think the same rule can be applied in love. No need to be an asshole or date one because it will only prove counterproductive.

My first compliment goes to the Mummy Chronicles. I don’t always relate to mommy blogs, but this gal’s got a very nice writing voice and she makes me laugh — especially when she talks about how her child encourages her beer consumption. If that doesn’t deserve a compliment I don’t know what does.

Second on today’s list of compliments goes not to a blog, but to a super cool resource for bloggers and anyone on the web. It’s called PicApp and it allows you to search photos super easily and then use them. Like I do here…

Christmas on the beach

My third compliment goes to this guy playing frisbee on the beach. Nice bod. Yum.

The blog Green Resolutions gets the fourth compliment. This blog is entirely devoted to the green lifestyle. That’s admirable and something I can really get behind. Check out the post 52 Green Resolutions for 2009 and join the revolution.

Last compliment but definitely not least goes to Chema Madoz and the HaHa.Nu Lifestyle Blogzine. I StumbledUpon this page and am totally in love the image of a scissors and Chinese characters. You’ll have to go check it out and find your own favorite.
