The Seven Best Ways to Accept a Compliment
Giving compliments can be difficult, but sometimes accepting a compliment can be even harder. I know that I am often taken off guard and don’t know what to say and will just answer with a “you too” and blush.
Truly, some of us are just not good at the compliments thing so here are some suggestions on how to respond when complimented.
One: Wow that is so nice. No one has said that to me before.
Two: You know how to make me smile.
Three: Thank you for that. You’re sweet.
Four: Stop it. Just stop it. (Then punch them in the stomach while laughing hysterically)
Five: Well, I like your sweater too. It brings out your eyes.
Six: Oh, you’re the best. Really.
Seven: You made my day with that compliment.
OK, so number four isn’t real. I just threw that one in there for fun. Happy complimenting.
Most of us find it very challenging to write on the inside of a card. Not just a Valentine’s Day card, but any card. What do you say and how do you say it? How do you make your message sound meaningful and memorable as opposed to just saying “I love you” or “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
