What To Do When He Says He Lost Your Number
Raise your hand if someone you dated and thought liked you never called you back? OK, now keep your hand up if after several weeks you ran into him and he said he lost your number?
One, two, three… I guess that is every single one of us.
Although this excuse for not calling is lame, it’s easy. People don’t say it be jerks, they say it because they don’t want to be mean. How awful would it be if that guy never called and then you ran into him and he said “Hey, I decided I really didn’t like you and the thought of going out with you again really bothered me. So I didn’t call. Have a good night!”
That would be mean.
It’s hard to accept that what you perceived as a good date may not have been a good date for the other guy. You never know the reasons why—the possibilities are limitless really:
1) He got back together with his ex
2) He met someone the next day that he liked better
3) He’s addicted to online dating
4) He has a life threatening disease and doesn’t want to break your heart
—or the dreaded—
5) He’s just not that into you (sorry, I hate it as much as you do)
Whatever the reason, don’t take it to heart. The best thing you can do is after a week or so of no phone action, just accept it and move on. Maybe you’ll hear from him or maybe you won’t. Either way, it’s time to meet the next one.
