If you tell somebody that you make $1,000,000 per year or $30,000 per year, they are going to have different perceptions of you based upon socialization. Therefore, if you are the type of person that doesn&#039;t value the perceptions of money, then I say tell people what you make. If you are the type of person that values the perception of money, then don&#039;t tell them what you make.

For example, I was talking to my father the other day and he told me he makes $500,000 per year. I said, &quot;damn, why don&#039;t you pay my student loans off.&quot; The point here is that I looked at my father the same way, but because he told me what he made, my instincts told me to ask him for money, because I have never asked him before.</description>
